well, the first day of my fifth decade was a blast.
just a general thank you to everyone that made it out and everyone i heard from.
feeling loved and always, thank you to Delta of Venus for hosting.

You can listen to the full audio of the bands if you'd like: Dingbat Superminx, Regular Pleasure, Cave Babies.

these are just a few of the Joshs that came out.
we failed to get a full team photo, but everyone did such a great job!
many people not in the know were confused. it was a success!
i know i've always wanted to be a fashun icon, and now it's real.
plus, it's a pretty practical outfit, so feel free to don whenever you'd like.

Rebs and my folks came up for the party.
mom took video the entire night.
she even got bounced around in the pit to secure that vid - so brave!

Regular Pleasure razzled us! make sure to see them at every opportunity!!

Kat and Kase made a 40 flavor cake! blown away!
also, Toni made some tasty thumb print cookies but i didn't get a photo.

Dingbat Superminx dazzled us!
and it was really nice to have some old old friends in town for the occasion.

this is a photo i took of the Cave Babies band while we were getting set up.
it's been so fun getting to play with everyone!
how is it that they're all soo good and want to play with me?
Kat, Will, Aaron, Delaney, Matt & CJ.

called all the Joshs up! they all won the look-a-like contest.

Stephen and Carisse surprised us with a song!!
extremely sweet and special.

we played "wasted" which is typically a pretty slow song
but we played it as a faster ska song.

"i am getting tired" is also typically slower,
so we mixed it up a bit with this ska version.

"i am gonna cry" is also mixed pace in it's ska version.
i'm loving the gaggle vocals!

we play the first part of "killing me slowly" in a swing revival *barf* sort of way....

and the second part of the song in more of a ska-core style.... *rawr*
it's fun to yell! who knew?

We also played a different version of "art is hard"
and got a request for the xanadu song, which we honored.

the friends at treehouse really came in strong with the additional surprises...
Sophia borrowed my button maker and made these awesome butts!
Kat made me into a doll omg! yall!
and Carisse made a lino block print of an alt flyer for the show!

and you know how much i love a great object i can hold...
thanks to folks that shared with me bouncy balls, duck figurines,
keys, a tiny cribbage set, a wreath, a handmade bowl,
block prints, candy and many more.

such a nice time. maybe my 40s will be pretty good!
